How the season engine works
League, Major, qualifier, TI. What the numbers do and why deciding games weigh Clutch.

The season is deterministic. Given your thirteen picks, the seed and the rule version, anyone can replay it and get the same result. That is how the server checks every submission and how the report link works.
Win chance
Each game is a coin weighted by the difference between your OVR and the opponent's strength: a logistic curve with slope 0.12, so ten points of OVR is roughly a 77% game. If the opponent's specialty is your weakest group and that group averages under 65, subtract six points. In a deciding game (game three of a best-of-three, game five of a final) the chance is multiplied by 0.8 plus your Clutch over 300: Clutch 60 is neutral, Clutch 99 is a 13% boost, Clutch 40 is a 7% cut.
The stages
| Stage | Format | Opponents | Gets you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regional league | Six best-of-threes | 70–84 | Top four reach the Major; top two are invited to TI |
| Major | Four-team double elimination | 80–91 | Prize, points; a final also earns a TI invite |
| Open qualifier | One best-of-three | 78–88 | TI, if you had no invite |
| The International | Seven best-of-twos, then eight-team double elimination, best-of-five final | 81–95 | Prize, points, Aegis |
Season points
Thirty per league series won, twenty for winning the qualifier, 100–400 for Major placement, 200–1,500 for TI placement, plus your OVR. An Aegis with a strong league is around 2,200. That is why the board's top ten is almost always TI champions: the season rewards finishing, not the build.
Three questions
Every report answers where you won (your strongest group and your record in deciding games), where you lost (your weakest spell and the opponent who punished it), and the turning round (the pick that moved your projected floor the most). Read those before the game log.
